Launched on April 25, 2007, the Public-Private Mix DOTS (PPMD) Unit in PSH is an aggressive partnership with the Department of Health in fighting against Tuberculosis. The strategy called Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse Therapy (DOTS) is the effective way of monitoring the progress of TB patients by ensuring that they diligently take their medicines. Ultimately, the PSH-PPMD Unit aims to prevent the recurrence of the disease among its patients.
